Holland & Knight senior counsel Allison Dyer was named among The Daily Report’s “40 Under Forty” legal rising stars to watch. The winners were profiled in the newspaper’s Sept. 16th issue.
Ms. Dyer arrived in the firm’s Atlanta office a little over a year ago, but has made a big impact in a short amount of time. She and her law partner, Woody Vaughan, head the Georgia Public Finance Initiative at Holland & Knight, which is currently ranked the #1 bond counsel firm in Georgia, according to The Bond Buyer. During the first six months of 2015, the team helped clients issue $1.6 billion in bonds, financing high-profile projects around the state.
“I love the local angle of the work we do,” Ms. Dyer told the newspaper. “The cool thing about bond work is it touches a lot of industries. We’ve got hospital clients, banks, local school districts, universities, water and sewer deals, multifamily housing.”
Some of her notable recent projects include:
Ms. Dyer has been a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers since 2006 and has served as a panellist for the past two years on its Undewriters’ Counsel panel along with in-house counsel from major financial institutions, the SEC and the IRS.
Ms. Dyer is also very active in the community and serves as the Community Service Chair of The Westminster Schools Young Alumni Council. During her tenure, Allison established the Young Alumni Habitat for Humanity Day. She also volunteers to draft wills for Habitat for Humanity homeowners.
Holland & Knight is a global law firm with more than 1,100 lawyers and other professionals in 22 U.S. offices, as well as Bogotá and Mexico City.
