Val Rahmani is CEO of Damballa, an Atlanta based computer security company that focuses on advanced cyber threats. Damballa has been funded by a number of highly regarded venture capital firms. Val will be the discussion leader at the next Atlanta Trend CEO/CIO Leadership Luncheon on July 10. Prior to joining Damballa as CEO, Val served as General Manager of IBM's Internet Security Systems (ISS) division after IBM's $1.3 billion acquisition of the company. At ISS, she was responsible for the strategic direction, growth and integration of all ISS products, services and research into IBM's overall security offerings. Prior to ISS, Val held several general management roles within IBM, including multi-billion dollar hardware, software and services businesses. Her IBM experience includes UNIX, mainframe, telco, utilities, global wireless and media markets in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She also ran a strategy unit, where she focused on emerging markets, global alliances and services business models. Val was born in the United Kingdom and first came to the United States as Executive Assistant to Lou Gerstner, soon after he became Chairman and CEO of IBM. She is an accomplished speaker, keynoting security industry events such the RSA conference in 2008. Val holds an MA and a Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford University in England, and is a member of the British aerobatics team.

Invesco Ltd. Announces Assets Under Management of $632.1 Billion

 

Atlanta based Invesco Ltd. Announced on June 11 preliminary month-end

assets under management of $632.1 billion, a decrease of 5.4% month over month. The decrease was largely the result of negative market returns and unfavorable foreign exchange. FX decreased AUM by $7.1 billion in the month. During the month, total net-long term flows were negative, driven largely by Passive outflows from the PowerShares DB and PowerShares QQQ products as well as a Stable Value client termination reported in Active fixed income. Total average assets for the quarter through May 31 were $658.0 billion, and average active assets for the quarter through May 31 were $549.5 billion.
